I shared this snippet yesterday from Tempted: The Dark Hart Chronicles Book 1 on my Facebook page…and I realized that a few of my followers aren’t on Facebook!

I thought I’d share it with you all.  I hope you enjoy this series as much as The Vampire Destiny Series.

An excerpt from Tempted (The Dark Hart Chronicles Book 1)

“Come to bed with me. I promise to be good.” I batted my eyelashes. Really, being good was the last thing on my mind. Things were getting a little too serious for my taste and I needed to lighten the mood.

Or better yet, change the subject completely.

Nick smiled in amusement at my obvious stall tactics. “Oh love, you have no idea.” In a streak of movement, he had me caged in his arms, spread across the bed. “There’s something special about you, love. The more I’m with you, the more of you I want. It puzzles me.”

A chill rushed over me and I swallowed thickly. “What does that mean?”

He smoothed my long blond hair back from my face. “I’m hoping it means you feel the same. I’ve been alone a long time. Not a single woman managed to catch my attention.” His hand absently rubbed his chest. “But you managed to. And I lo…”

Two of my fingers covered his lips, stopping his words. “Please. Don’t say it, Nick. It’s too soon. And if this implodes…”

His face took on that fresh-faced quality again, reminding of the first day I met him. He had been  a vision in black from the top of his head to the soles of his boots, standing in the sun like a dark angel. Coming out of the memory, that same man was braced over me, looking even more handsome now than they memory.  His dimples added to the boy next-door quality he had that made him irresistible to me.

His russet eyes were studying my face. “Whatever happened to make you so scared I want to fix. I want you to trust me.”

Scooting away, I sat up and twisted my hair into a long braid, my fingers moving quickly through the thick strands. “I don’t need fixed, Nick. I’m not a toy that’s broken. I just need a hell of a lot of time.”
